Annalisa Zoanetti reports
On Sunday 6th September, Adelaide finally ran its first competiton in 6 months. Firstly a big thank you needs to go out to Rhett English and his committee for putting on the event. In such an uncertain and weird time, it was just what the Adelaide Ballroom Dancing community needed.
From doors opening, you could see the smiles and feel the happiness of everyone who came in! We were back and ready to compete … actually lets not use that word, everyone was ready to dance 🙂 Competition even though it is what we strive for, on Sunday it was about getting out there, dancing to an audience and enjoying every second of it. It was like we got a bit of our freedom back!!!
The audience was very supportive, throughout the whole day cheering and encouraging all events on the floor. The feeling of the whole day was one of pure joy! We feel very lucky here in Adelaide that we are able to hold events and get back to a certain normal unlike many other places at the moment. We should all sit back and reflect on that and hope that everyone will be able to do what we did sunday very soon.
Dancing is alive and kicking in Adelaide and we are very greatful for that.
Stay safe everyone and see you all on the dancefloor very soon hopefully.
